Dr. Jigar Darji is currently pursuing his postgraduate studies M.S. in Shalya Tantra (General Surgery) at the Parul Institute of Ayurveda. His academic and clinical interests lie in the field of Ayurvedic surgical practice, with a particular focus on Dhoopana Karma (medicated fumigation therapy) for postoperative pain management in benign anorectal conditions. His work explores the application of traditional Ayurvedic principles in the management of postoperative pain and local discomfort following surgical procedures for conditions such as hemorrhoids, anal fissure, and fistula-in-ano. Through clinical practice and research, Dr. Jigar Darji has been working towards integrating Ayurvedic Dhoopana Karma with contemporary surgical and pain-management approaches, with the aim of developing safe, practical, and effective supportive strategies for postoperative care. His research focuses on evaluating the potential role of medicated fumigation in reducing postoperative pain, local inflammation, irritation, and discomfort while supporting a favorable wound-healing environment. He has actively contributed to academic platforms through research presentations at national and international seminars and has published research work in reputed journals.
