Dr. Priya S. R. Nair, BAMS, M.D. (Kriya Sharir), daughter of Shri. N. Ramakrishnan Nair and Smt. Sreekumari R. Nair, and wife of Mr. Dileep Sankar K. V., was born in Trivandrum, Kerala. She is presently serving as an Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Kriya Sharir at K J Institute of Ayurveda and Research Centre, Gujarat. Dr. Priya completed her undergraduate education at Amrita School of Ayurveda, Kollam, Kerala, under Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham University, and obtained her postgraduate degree in Kriya Sharir from S D M College of Ayurveda and Hospital, Hassan. She secured University First Rank in her postgraduate studies under Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka. With over six years of experience, she has contributed extensively to Ayurveda education, research, academic administration, and institutional development. Her scholarly pursuits span Kriya Sharir (Ayurvedic Physiology), evidence-based Ayurveda, Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS), medical education, and interdisciplinary research. Dr. Priya has authored and co-authored numerous research papers in peer-reviewed national and international journals and has delivered scientific presentations at conferences, seminars, and academic forums across India and North America. She has also mentored undergraduate research projects under CCRAS SPARK, nurturing research aptitude and scientific inquiry among students. Dr. Priya currently serves as a Co-Principal Investigator of the Indian Knowledge System (IKS) Centre, funded by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, where she actively engages in research, academic initiatives, and the integration of India’s traditional knowledge systems with modern educational frameworks. Her leadership further extends to curriculum enrichment, examination administration, and institutional quality improvement through diverse academic and administrative roles. As an educator and researcher, Dr. Priya is dedicated to strengthening the scientific foundations of Ayurveda through rigorous research, scholarly publications, collaborative academic engagements, and sustained mentorship. Her overarching vision is to bridge classical Ayurvedic wisdom with contemporary biomedical science, thereby advancing the global acceptance, innovation, and evidence-based evolution of Ayurveda.
