Dr. Surendra Kumar

Dr. Surendra Kumar is an Associate Professor in the Department of Business Management at Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University (A Central University),Uttarakhand, and a seasoned academician with 20 years of teaching experience. A Ph.D.in Management, he also holds an MBA, an M.Com. and an M.A. in Economics, and specialises in Operations Research and Investment Management. His research addresses human resource management, entrepreneurship, tourism and homestay enterprises, and the socio-economic development of Himalayan and tribal communities, areas in which he has built an extensive body of work. He has published more than fifty research papers in reputed national and international journals and edited volumes, and has authored books on human resource management and financial management. His research has been presented at sixty national and international conferences. He has supervised doctoral research across diverse areas of management and allied fields, and three of his scholars have been awarded the Ph.D. under his guidance.
