Ms. Poonam Sharma
Assistant Professor
Ms. Poonam Sharma is an emerging academician and researcher, currently serving as an
Assistant Professor at SAGE University, Indore. She is presently pursuing her Ph.D. in
Commerce from Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV), Indore, with her research focusing on
“Study of Consumer Behaviour Towards Over-the-Top (OTT) Platforms in India.” She has
successfully completed her Ph.D. coursework with a distinction. She also holds a Master’s
degree in Commerce (M.Com - Taxation) and a PGDCA from Makhanlal Chaturvedi National
University, Bhopal.
Ms. Sharma began her teaching career, where she taught undergraduate and postgraduate
students in subjects such as Business Organization & Communication, Business Management,
and Banking & Law. With her growing experience in academia, she has also actively
participated in research, presenting and publishing papers in UGC-approved and peer-reviewed
journals. Her research contributions include topics such as consumer preference towards audio
OTT platforms, awareness of numerology among Indian youth, and data privacy issues related to
OTT streaming services. She has also contributed a book chapter on communication and training
in the banking sector, published by KAAV Publications, Delhi.
She has participated in various Faculty Development Programmes and academic enrichment
initiatives, including NEP-focused training and ICT tools for higher education. She has attended
national and international conferences and webinars on multidisciplinary themes in commerce,
education, and innovation. In 2025, she was honored with the Best Paper Presenter Award at
Shodh Pravah: International Conference on Smart Management organized by SAGE University,
Indore.
Ms. Sharma's scholarly interests include digital consumer behavior, streaming content
economics, emerging marketing trends, and data privacy. In addition to her academic pursuits,
she takes a deep interest in poetry, creative writing, digital literacy, and interpersonal
communication. At SAGE University, she actively contributes to teaching, research facilitation,
and academic coordination, reflecting her commitment to professional growth and student-
centered learning.
