Prof. Manoranjan Prasad Sinha

Prof. Manoranjan Prasad Sinha, M.Sc. (Gold Medallist), Ph.D., D.Sc., FAZ,FZSI, FNEA, is a distinguished zoologist of national and international repute. He has held several eminent academic and administrative positions in past, such as Professor of Zoology and Head as well as Dean, Faculty of Science, Ranchi University, Ranchi,Vice-Chancellor of Sido Kanhu Murmu University, Dumka, Jharkhand; and Pro-Vice Chancellor of Vinoba Bhave University, Hazaribag. Prof. Sinha has been the recipient of numerous prestigious accolades, such as the Dr. S. Radhakrishnan Education Excellence Award, Scientist of the Century Award, Viswakabi Rabindranath Tagore Memorial Award, life time Achievement Award and multiple Awards of Excellence conferred by distinguished academic bodies. He is a Fellow and Office Bearer of several learned societies and has rendered his expertise as Chairman of the Research Advisory Committee at the Central Tasar Research and Training Institute and as a member of the Research Coordination Committee of the Central Silk Board, Government of India. A prolific researcher, Prof. Sinha is credited to have published over 265 scholarly papers in reputed national and international journals with a citation score of 2094. He serves as Chief Editor of two reputed scientific journals included in Web of Science, and has authored several books, including five published in Canada and One from USA. His contributions to scientific inquiry have been further demonstrated through the successful acquisition and management of major research projects funded by the UGC, DBT, and the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. As a dedicated mentor, he has supervised more than 25 doctoral theses, fostering a generation of accomplished researchers. The present volume is a scholarly consolidation of his empirical findings undertaken in collaboration with some of his doctoral scholars, reflecting his enduring legacy in advancing zoological sciences.
